Chicago, IL - East Side Universities & College Degree Programs
East Side, a popular part of the Southeast Shore area, is one of many Chicago neighborhoods found on the Calumet River. It is especially secluded because of its location on Calumet Lake. This shelters East Side from busy Chicago and gives it the feel of a small Midwestern town. Students of history enjoy East Side's Pullman Historic District and unique aspects of the area. Nineteenth-century East Side was known as Taylorville, Goosetown, and Colehour. By the 1920s, the area was well known for iron and steel production. There are a variety of schools, community colleges, and universities in or near East Side, including Olive Harvey College and Calumet College of St. Joseph.| » Illinois Colleges: Quick Search | » Featured School | |||
