Chicago, IL - Hermosa Universities & College Degree Programs

Hermosa is a family-oriented Chicago neighborhood, northwest of the Loop. Originally home to Scottish, Swedish, and German residents, today the area is predominantly Hispanic with residents of mostly Puerto Rican and Mexican descent. After some deterioration in the 1990s, the community banded together through neighborhood organizations and beautification projects. Hermosa Park and nearby Kilbourn Park are results of these efforts and are now centers of recreation and family fun. Hermosa is known for its many Mexican restaurants, including Cuchilandia and Taqueria Lolita. The neighborhood houses both public and Catholic elementary and high schools, and its proximity to highways and easy bus access connect the neighborhood to Chicago's many colleges and universities.
