Chicago, IL - South Shore Universities & College Degree Programs
Located on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, South Shore Chicago was once a base for many African-American artists, writers, and musicians. Today South Shore offers extensive beaches, attractive parks, historic architecture, excellent restaurants, and plenty of shopping that students can enjoy. Rapid gentrification and restoration over the past decade has included the extensive South Shore Cultural Center, with music and movies, a bird sanctuary, and beautiful waterfront grounds. The Center is home to the South Shore Cultural Center School of the Arts, and the Paul Robeson Theatre, and was host for President and Mrs. Obama's wedding reception in 1992. From mid-June through late October, the South Shore Farmers Market is a popular Wednesday morning destination for residents.| » Illinois Colleges: Quick Search | » Featured School | |||
